Tackling any new venture, be it a business or a special project, requires you to have a plan and great focus. Many times we lack the discipline needed to accomplish those tasks on a greater scale. That is where a coach or mentor comes in. A coach or mentor can provide insight and accountability for you while you are tackling that effort.
Of the eight reasons to get mentoring by Diana Rau, reasons 5 and 6 speak out loud to me. Reason 6 talks about building a tribe. Because I enjoy the comradery and excitement of sharing with other like-minded people. A tribe helps me to learn and grow. Reason 5 spoke about accountability. That is the one area we probably need the most help with. This is where we get the additional help we need to reach our goals and dreams. The other 6 reasons were very relevant to why having a coach is a great idea.
In my experience in business, I have always used a coach and mentor to inspire and motivate me towards the end result. Yes, I realize that everything I need is already in me but sometimes we need the added benefit of someone that helps us to get in touch within our inner desires and help motivate us to bring it out. I have always needed a coach and have been happy that I have had one.
